ABOUT REV. DR. SHARON ANDERSON

Dr. Sharon Anderson

CEO & Founder

Rev. Dr. Sharon Styles Anderson, Esq. is a compassionate and caring woman who has
a heart for people, particularly those in need. Her commitment to serving the community is
unparalleled, and is known throughout the nation for embracing vision, putting the legs to that
vision, and ensuring that the vision is carried out with precision and integrity. She works in
tandem with community leaders, faith-based organizations, and community advocates nationally
and globally and her unyielding spirit and positive energy compels her to work tirelessly on
behalf of those who are disenfranchised.

Over the last decade Dr. Anderson has focused her career on building civility in a society that all too often seems tilted toward uncivil speech and actions, and through research and experience is developing a proven framework for cultivating a safe and productive culture of civility and respect in all spheres of our daily lives. She is a published author on the subject of civility and the law; her first article “Still Officers of the Court: Why the First Amendment Is No Bar to Challenging Racism, Sexism and Ethnic Bias in the Legal Profession” was published in the Georgetown University Law Journal on Legal Ethics. Her new book “Emotional Civility-The
New Standard for Global Success” is a critical piece in a time where civility in our world seems to have vanished. The book reminds us of the powerful concept to not allow our emotions to control our speech or conduct and reminds us of the impact of emotional incivility on our societies and communities. She has dedicated this moment in her career to examining the abandoned value of civil interaction; and calls us to action to apply civility as our standard

to bring success, peace, and safety to our homes, communities, and nations. As a result, she founded “Emotional Civility Day”- a National Day recognized by the United States National Archives and celebrated on March 6th of every year.
